Here’s What Happy Buyers are Saying About the

“Living in Antigua” Guide:

“Living in Antigua Guatemala is the best book for day to day living in Antigua. I am getting ready to move to Antigua and had many question about day to day living (shopping, renting a house, doctors). This book while not answering everything went a long way in answering a lot of the questions my wife and I had. Well worth the investment. I am starting to follow some of the advice even here in the States.”  Rush KittleUSA
“Wow…this book is a work of art. Thoughtfully put together and full of great information. The photographs are exceptional. And even if you are just planning a visit and not planning to immigrate – this is a ‘must read’.”  Sandy J. – Canada
“I’m looking at moving there and the information on pets was worth the price of the book – there’s even the forms you need along with vaccinations – all you need to know about bringing your fur family members along.  Maps are another hard item to come by but the ones in his book has given me a great understanding of the sort of logic of how things are laid out.  I found him on Facebook from his photographs which are the best I’ve seen and many of those are in the book (page 14 is my favorite). It is the best book on Antigua and Guatemala out there and believe me I searched before going without any luck even though I bought the standard ones but none really gave me a feeling for the country and its people like Rich’s book does. It’s required reading in my opinion if you are visiting and especially if you are considering moving there.” Judy W.USA

My Story

I fell in love with Antigua the first moment I visited three years ago. I devoured all the information I could about living here, and even though I married a Guatemalan women, there were still gaps in information that as a foreigner, I did not have any knowledge about. Simple tasks like setting up Internet service, or deal with banks, were a lot more complicated than they should’ve been.

This guide gives you, future Antigua resident, information that you could not possibly hope to gather yourself in a two-week, or even a month-long fact-finding trip. There’s information here that you will help you steer clear of costly and painful mistakes that could have easily been avoided with a little bit of insider knowledge and planning.

What this Living in Antigua book is not: This is not a travel guide. At least not in the traditional sense.  There’s a huge number of websites dedicated to ranking the best restaurants and “touristy” things to do in Antigua. In fact, printed travel guides are falling out of fashion, as they’re usually outdated by the time they go to press. While I list many “can’t-miss” experiences in the book, my aim is to help you come down here and explore for yourself. To go beyond the tourist trail and get to know what else is out there beyond the 20 city blocks Antigua has to offer.
